Welcoming a Guest

I mentioned last week that we finished our
new and much needed half bath just in time to welcome
a beloved friend from Miami.
It may be only a half but after living for 9 years
in a beach cottage with only one bathroom,
it seems larger than life to me.
But more about this later.

I want to share with you the vintage cart that I was
so lucky to find
at a price I could afford!

I  L*O*V*E her!
Vintage metal carts from the 50's and 60's
are gaining popularity.
You can find them in all price ranges and colors.
Some are in wonderful condition and some are rough.
{Rusty is cool but beat up is not.}
 Taupe and black!
Be still my heart.

My cart is currently at home just outside
the aforementioned powder room.
It is perfect there.
It holds an array of things my guests might need.

Sometimes you have to observe your guest space
from a guest's perspective~
pretending their room is like a
well-appointed boutique hotel.

Ohhh~ Hydrangeas in bloom!
White accents always seem to work.

Pottery Barn! $1 from a thrift store.

Embellishments really say 'we're glad you're here'.
And so do thirsty white towels.

Good-quality water and some fun drinking glasses.

And a vintage touch for added ambiance as well as comfort.

I think my little cart says 'welcome' in a big way.

Even though our first guest in our new sleeping loft
was a guy~
I think he felt appropriately indulged.
I feel like spending a night up there!
Coming soon~ The comfy bed(s)
Glad you stopped in!

I'm joining the party at Debra's Vintage Inspiration Friday . I hope you will too!

Until next time!

  5. Dana,
The cart is adorable; love the taupe and black which really shows of the white towels and other accessories. Pampering your guests is a wonderful way to let them know you're glad they're visiting!
